South Africa to host 14th International Festival of Language and Culture

The 14th International Festival of Language and Culture, South Africa, IFLCSA, will be held this April twenty first, at the Nelson Mandela Theatre in Johannesburg. The Festival is the largest and most prominent global project for promoting world languages and cultures. This year 16 countries including Azerbaijan, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Bosnia, India, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Malawi, Phillipines, Senegal. Tanzania, Ukraine, USA, Zambia and South Africa will participate. Ilhami Dermitas is the co-ordinator of the festival and he joins us now to tell us more.
A Turkish cultural promotion event took place in the capital Manila, the Philippines. The event featured traditional Turkish dance performances, food, music, and a photography exhibition along with screenings on Turkey’s natural and historical attractions. As highlights of the event, Filipino students of Fountain International Schools performed traditional Turkish dances and songs.
NGO: plot to take over Turkish schools will fail in Africa
Mrs. Osuji said Hizmet Movement schools, otherwise known as Turkish schools, are contributing to the development of education in Nigeria and other African countries. She urged African governments to resist any plot by the Turkish government to undermine their sovereignties and respectability by accepting its disguised order to hand over the Turkish schools to Maarif Foundation.

Turkish Schools in Pakistan reacted to the recent claims that the schools will be nationalized. “The claims are entirely baseless without any merit,” the schools’ officials said.
